9 Ways To Stop Wasting Money Now

We all have a love and hate relationship with money. We love it when we get that message at the beginning of the month and we hate it when we realise it’s only the 10th of the month and we’re broke already. Well here are 9 very effective ways to ensure that your salary sees you through till the end of the month along with a little to spare.

Ways of saving money

Waste not, want not

  1. Make a budget. For every month make a sheet that includes separate categories right from rent to going out and having a good time. Making a budget helps compartmentalise the amount you can spend in a month.
  2. Resist that temptation. We’re going home, we’re walking and what’s that…a sale? Building immunity from spending randomly on sales is a good way to stop wasting them greens. And even though the board says 50% off, we sometimes forget to factor in the “upto”
  3. Don’t visit supermarkets frequently. Go only when you have a specific things to buy with a list in your hands. Unnecessary spending at a super market is probably one of the easiest ways to waste money on things that you don’t really require.
  4. Curb the E-urge. We all love shopping on e-commerce sites. Clothes, accessories, shoes, home decor, furniture, heck even food sometimes. However, just because we don’t have a pile of things in front of us doesn’t mean that we’re not spending way more than necessary.
  5. Try not to eat out every day. Even though your office may be located right in the heart of the city and you have all the cool restaurants a stone’s throw away. Try not to order in everyday. It’s a colossal waste of money and frankly speaking not that healthy either. A packed lunch and a healthy snack from home is more likely to take you a long way both financialy and health wise.
  6. This might sound a little harsh, but one really good way to stop wasting money is by ordering water when you go out to eat. Just plain, simple, delicious H2O. It may seem absurd but the fact is that we all end up spending a lot more than what we plan to while going out for a meal on drinks. Get this under control and you’ve got a large chunk of your salary under control.
  7. Self help is the best help. If you take a moment to really stop and think of the number of things that we can do ourselves but don’t. You’ll be amazed. From day to day errands to simple home problems, our instincts tell us to go ask for assistance but the reality is that we are more than capable of solving it ourselves. Now think of the amount of money you’d be saving and not wasting if you only started having a little more faith in your “fix it” skills.
  8. Whether we realise it or not but a lot of our money is wasted on commute. We’ve all been conditioned to booking a taxi irrespective of whether we need to go near or far. And in the middle of it all we forget that there are more viable, cheaper and at time healthier options to commute like for example taking the metro, or cycling or even walking whenever possible. Cutting down on cost of commute is a very good way of putting a stop to wasting money.
  9. Last but not the least, disorganization is one of the most common reasons because of which we end up wasting money. If you get organized right at the beginning of the month you can rest assured for the remainder of it.

Get your act together and start saving now!! If you use these little tricks in daily life, you'll see a big difference at the end of the month. Of course, you can thank us later!
