What if someone came and told you that eating chocolates is actually really good for you? Well, we are here to say exactly that. Some of us maybe crying out of joy, some, rapt in disbelief and others, nodding in a sagely manner on account of knowing this fact all along. Apart from tasting lip-smackingly delicious, chocolates are also supposed to be very good for your heart. The compounds in chocolate (once again, more so in dark chocolate) appear to be highly protective against the oxidation of LDL and studies have shown that it may also help in reducing the risk of illnesses like diabetes and high blood pressure which are detrimental to the heart. Moreover, consuming chocolates also reduces risk of strokes by over 15%. As if this wasn’t reason enough, chocolate also reduces ‘bad cholesterol’ and helps boost levels of ‘good cholesterol’ in our body, who would have thought, right?!
